Samuel Dubois
Teacher, drummer, musician
Samuel DuBois is a professional musician currently teaching, gigging, touring and busking, making steelpans his life. He has never studied music and is self taught in his art. He has gained titles such as ‘British Association of Steel band soloist of the year’ and he is the youngest arranger to win Panorama in 2007 and 2010. He is now passing his knowledge on to the younger generation by teaching in over 20 schools including Harlow Steelband, where he has led the band for over 18 years. Sam plays with Ebony Steelband (one of Europe’s leading steelbands) and have again won Panorama 2023 for the 24th time! You may have seen Sam playing the pans on The Great British Bake Off and Eastenders.
Daniel Barwick
Player, teacher, musician
Dan is the Band’s longest standing member, and is an accomplished musician. He has performed with Ebony at Panorama, teaches pans at a local school to their students and members of the community, and will also tutor the Band in Sam’s absence. Dan can usually be found playing the tenor pan when not tutoring, and we’ve yet to find a song he can’t play.
